A few months ago, I met with an accident in North California while I was driving my car. It was the mistake of a motor cycle. My car crashed in to another car and the front side of that car got damaged because it hit a truck which was in front of it. Even though the mistake was not mine, the police filed a case of an accident without listening to my version of what had happened.
After a few weeks, I received a letter from the State Patrol. That letter contained a traffic ticket for inattentive driving. I just felt disheartened as it was not my mistake. I decided to fight against it. And as many of us know, with our well framed laws it is not a very difficult task. The ticket sent by the state patrol to me has given the option of signing admittance or to report to the specified county office to talk to a traffic officer to fight the ticket. As I decided to fight against the ticket, I went to the traffic police office and with a copy of the complaint and I filed my complaint. As there is no strong evidence to prove my inattentiveness while driving, the case was dismissed by the traffic inspector. But it is not the same with all other types of tickets. It’s not that easy to fight against some tickets. Especially if the ticket is of speeding tickets category, it is very difficult to fight against. Most of the times it takes huge amount of effort and one needs to acquire good amount of knowledge before one can fight against these types of tickets. How ever, with our well framed laws, if anyone follows by the process and if anyone has got the required patience, then there is a real chance of getting a positive result - especially if you are not a guilty party. |
