Truck Batteries

Not only for the trucks but for most of the automotive machinery such as cars, wheel chairs, tractors and motorcycles, truck batteries provide the necessary power. Normally they are in rectangular shapes. They contain sulphuric acid which is a very highly concentrated and potentially dangerous acid.. If it is exposed to the skin it burns on contact.

For the disposal of truck batteries, recycling is the best possible way. This is because most of the components of the batteries are reusable ones. The main advantage with the recycling is that the metals which are obtained from recycling can be used to produce new batteries. The same is the case with the plastics.

As truck batteries contain sulphuric acid one should take some precautions at the time of recycling them. It is advisable to use gloves that are leather or acid resistant while doing the disposal process. Care should be taken to keep any flame or spark producing substances away from the process. Remove all the metallic things as they can cause sparks. Ensure that acid does not spill at the time of the recycling process. And also ensure that the container is also a non metallic one and a leak proof one.

In the event that spilled acid contacts the skin make sure to flush the area that the acid touches with water right away. After this you should visit a doctor or an emergency room if the burning persists.

When you decide to buy a new battery grab an exchange offer that takes your old battery. These types of offers exist almost all throughout the year. In United States of America more than 40% of the batteries get recycled.
