Car Maintenance Tips

You hear the same comments or advise everyday "Maintain your car well enough for its proper working" and of course you oblige to the same but the confusion remains how to maintain a car well. Every other person maintains his own views and observations about maintaining cars but whom to believe? By learning the basic tips and tricks you can succeed in the process of car training.

Engine

The engine is the most important component in your car and has to be taken good care of. The engine does a lot of hard work for your car. It is important that the engine oil should be monitored and replaced regularly for safety measures. Pull out the dipstick and check your car’s engine oil level, especially before you move ahead for a long journey otherwise every two to three weeks oil check is recommended.

Cooling System

Cooling system takes care that the engine does not get over heated. So that makes it mandatory for you to keep a check on it at least in a fortnight, especially in summers. Pay more attention to the water level and the radiator while the engine remains cold. Keep the coolant level between full and low.

Tyres

Tyres are something that wear out very soon. So, you have to get them checked and properly aligned regularly. Use good quality tyres to avoid repeated routine check ups.

Brakes

Brakes are something that need closest attention of all. If anytime you feel that your brakes are wobbly or do not respond to your commands then it is time for a quick check up. Consider the brake fluid reservoir.

Battery

Take good care of your car battery so that they are free from corrosion. Grease the terminals regularly to avoid corrosion. Make sure that the plates are covered every time and check the level of distilled water your battery contains. Try keeping the distilled water level high because as and when the level becomes low there are chances that the battery plates get corroded.

Interiors

The interiors of the car have to be kept clean at all times. Wipe the unwanted dust and grime which can easily disturb the normal working of your car’s machinery. Make sure that you use special cleaning products for cars and not home based products please as they can damage your car’s interiors. These special cleaners are made keeping in mind the delicate components of your car. Home based cleaners are not up to the mark. Use a soft cloth to wipe of the dash and other components. If you enjoy interiors made of leather then go for cleaners in this category.

Exteriors

Exteriors are something that almost all car owners focus upon. If you love your car then make sure that you keep your exteriors shining at all times. This tip is a boon to those planning to resale their cars. Give your car a mirror finish with the available cleaning products. Splash the car windscreens with clean water and use soap if required. Make sure that you dry all the possible areas of your car to avoid corrosion.
